Consultants and Experts of the Project ‘Ukraine: Energoatom– Corporate Sustainable Development’ visited Khmelnitsky NPP

Consultants and experts of the project ‘Ukraine: Energoatom– Corporate Sustainable Development’ paid a working visit to Khmelnitsky NPP. For the purpose of the project , on July 18, 2017 representatives of ‘Deloitte &Touche Ltd.’, which deals with the corporatization issues in the utility, learned about the work and development prospects of nuclear power plant.

During the working meeting Mykola Panashchenko, KhNPP’s General Director, presented the guests with main performance indicators of the NPP operation. In particular, he focused on the environmental and radiological safety indicators as well as on production issues. He elaborated on the main projects implemented by the staff of Khmelnitsky NPP, the implementation of which will contribute to the development of the industry as a whole.  The main projects include:  lifetime extension of power unit #1; construction of  power units #3 and #4; ‘EC-Ukraine: Power Bridge’ on connection of KhNPP Unit#2 to ENTSO-E.

Corporate development experts, in turn, familiarized the management of Khmelnitsky NPP with key aspects, risks and benefits, as well as with tasks and goals of the Project ‘Ukraine: Energoatom –Corporate Sustainable Development’.

While presenting the main stages, Taras Seryy, representative of ‘Deloitte & Touche, Ltd.’, noted that planned implementation period of the project was 18 months. Now the first stage is coming to an end, during which the consultants and experts analyzed and evaluated the situation in the utility and also identified key issues in the course of corporatization.  At the next stage, possible areas for corporatization will be determined and the Roadmap will be developed.

In the framework of the visit, the experts on corporate development  visited the turbine hall, control room of Unit #2  and construction site of K3K4 (Khmelnitsky power units #3 and #4) .
